1 Peter 3 Inherit A Blessing
1 Peter 3:8-9 “Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”
As Christians and God’s kids we should:
- Be sympathetic.
- Love one another.
- Be compassionate.
- And be humble.
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
GOD’S WAY:
- Does not repay those who hurt you.
- Take it a step farther.
- Repay evil with blessing.
Of course, Peter takes it another step farther.
Bless someone who hurts you.
Bless someone who says something mean about you.
Bless someone who does evil to you.
What does it mean to bless?
How has God treated us when we rebelled from him?
- With patience
- With love
- With grace and forgiveness
- With blessing
- With protection
Doing what God wants for us comes with a promise… “so that you may inherit a blessing!”
