Galatians 6
Sowing and Reaping
Galatians 6:7 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows”
Mocked – mukterizo – To turn up the nose, to ridicule, to sneer at

Galatians 6:7-8 “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
Paul is bringing in a new type of law. The law of natural consequences
The word destruction – phthora – Means to decay
There are consequences to breaking the law
Paul declares this same set or truth when it comes to the things of the flesh and the Spirit
- If you choose the things of life then life grows in you
- If you chooser the things of the flesh then decay happens
Building of Bricks

- These bricks won’t necessarily crumble right away
Why do we struggle with doing what is right?
SIN
Galatians 6:9-10 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
You can’t bury sinful choices without it growing sinful results
1 Timothy 6:17-19 “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. 18 Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. 19 In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”
