Dear Church Family –
I am awoken this morning at 5:50 by a ray of sunshine slipping past the small slit in between the curtains. There is something reassuring about the sunlight. Even though my mind, body and soul wants to go back to sleep I am encouraged by the early life that comes this time of year. It is amazing how a simple ray of the sun can encourage an entire day. Fortunately the light of God is constantly shining on us. His mercies are new every morning. Even in the darkest of times we can look to Him for hope and encouragement. I encourage you to take advantage of this early light. There is something powerful about connecting with Jesus early in the morning as everything else around us is coming to life. God is always ready to spend time with us, but I think He especially loves it when we give Him the very first moments of our day before we have filled our hearts with the busyness of life.
It feels too soon, but over the next month we will be wrapping up our summer-focused activities. During August, we will have a block party to end the summer, we will be planning for the fall and holiday season, and prepare for the children as we prepare for AWANA and starting a youth group (more details below). Sunday mornings we are continuing to worship, pray, study God’s Word, and encourage each other. Once again, always feel welcomed. So, please pray with us as we listen to our Father regarding His plans for our church family and our place in our community.
