Dear Church Family;
We have just finished our month devoted to prayer. So, where is my heart after the month? We need to be a people who are continually talking to God. During our commute, when we wake, when we go to sleep, as we are doing dishes, as we are watching TV, etc…. Just include our Savior in our life as we live it. I can understand why Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. The reality is that the level of victory that we experience in life is directly linked to the amount we look to the Lord for our answers and our needs. I am referring to spending time with God, sharing our concerns with him, and listening to the things that concern him. The central theme to prayer needs to be about our relationship with Him. The more we spend time with Him the more we change and the more we desire to spend time with Him. There is nothing better than experiencing God’s presence. Let’s build on the things we did this last month and see how close we grow to our Father.

February & March – Nursery, Children’s Church, and Youth Discipleship Sunday Mornings
Junie is responsible for what is taught Sunday morning to our youngest and our oldest kids. We want to let you know what we will be focusing on teaching our littlest’s and our oldest kids. Chris Gledhill and Sue Baucum are responsible for the elementary age kids and choose what is taught Sunday morning.
Nursery (infants – K)– We are going to be using a new curriculum called “The Story”. We will be continuing to teach the Bible Stories and supplementing the teaching with crafts, songs, games, and take home verses and activities to do with your little one.
Children’s Church (1st – 5th grade) – They are using the Faithweaver’s curriculum. It teaches the Bible stories and it highlights important truths. The following is what is being taught through February and then they will be focusing on Easter. Jesus demonstrates his authority (Mark 1:21-28), Jesus heals, prays, and preaches (Mark 1:29-39), Jesus calms a storm (Mark 4:35-41), Four friends help a paralyzed friend (Mark 2:1-12), Jesus heals the blind man (Mark 10:46-52).
Youth (6th – 12th grade) – for February and March we will be doing a series on “Christianity and Cults and World Religions”. I will be doing a series on the major world religions and teaching the kids about their beliefs systems and how they compare and contrast with Christianity. I will be using some DVD teachings and activities to help me teach this. I want the youth to be equipped to be able to talk about their faith and not be ignorant about what is being taught and believed in the world. I want them to be confident in their belief system and be able to be bold witnesses.
