Dear Church Family;
Today I have pretty much stayed home in bed, sick. Fortunately for me one of my favorite things is on TV, College Football. Today, in between my sickness nap and trying to get a few things done around the house, I watched two underdogs win a football game. I love to root for the underdog (the team that is not supposed to win). Why does my heart lean in this direction? Why don’t I root for the favorite? There is something exciting about seeing a team overcome better talent and perform better than expected. I also think we get this desire from our Father in Heaven. How many “below average” people has God rooted for, empowered, equipped, and then watched go forth to victoriously accomplish something that was “too big” for them? The Bible is full of these people: Gideon, Deborah, David, Joseph, Mary, and many more. The church is also full of these “underdogs”, who, by God’s grace, can stand strong in every insurmountable situations. When God is for us who can stand against us? Therefore I encourage you to continue to grow in God’s grace and lean on Him. When you do, He will faithfully pour Himself into you to make you like David, a giant killer.
