This morning I want to look at three people who saw the same things, but responded differently.
What is her response?
Doubt – They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have put him.
She asked the gardener if he had carried away the body of Jesus.
This was after she saw the two angels in the tomb.
Some people doubt even when all the evidence is right before them.
Peter saw the empty tomb and linen cloth and did not know what to make of it.
Luke 24:12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away wondering to himself what had happened.
Peter saw the same thing that Mary saw.
Mary doubted and thought someone carried the body away.
Peter was unsure what to make of the facts that he saw.
Some people need more.
Herod was hoping to see Jesus perform a miracle (Luke 23:8)
John 20:8 Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed.
John looked at the evidence and believed
They all saw the same things, but their initial responses were all different.
In this room there are different responses to the message of the cross and resurrection.
Who are you?
